Are eggs healthy for babies?

Complete and highly digestible, however eggs should be introduced in the baby’s diet carefully, though certainly for the delight of its taste buds.
Their nutritional qualities
Eggs are a great source of proteins (1 egg has as much as 50 g of red meat). Rich in vitamins and oligo-elements, it also contains lipids, which are useful for the development of the brain.
As for freshness, the laying date must appear on the box and the optional indication « fresh » or « extra fresh » is an additional guarantee, meaning that the eggs are from less 9 days old. To check freshness yourself, immerse the egg in a bowl of water, if it is fresh, it will sink to the bottom. In the fridge or at room temperature, you can keep eggs for 8 days for soft-boiled eggs and for 15 days for fully cooked eggs.

Quail eggs with a speckled shell are suitable for the baby and, like the baby, it has a « baby » size that can be fun and eaten whole from when the baby is 1 year old. For goose eggs, which weigh about 150 grams, it is better to use them for an omelette for the whole family.
Don’t make a big fuss to introduce them.
There is a simple rule: a little egg yolk from the 6th month and egg white or whole egg from 1 year onwards. However, check the baby if there are allergies in the family.
From when the baby is 6 months old, you can let is taste a hard-boiled yolk, mixed, for instance with a potato purée. When the baby is around 9th months old, the yolk of a soft-boiled egg given with a spoon or a bread finger will awaken the baby’s taste buds. With a high fat content and rich in proteins, it may be given 2 to 3 times a week.
From when the baby is 1 year old, scrambled eggs, omelettes or fried eggs will be in its menu. You can also serve them with a ‘fines herbes’ seasoning mix or small cubes of steamed vegetables.
The eggs must be fresh and introduce the yolk when the baby is around 6 months old, wait till it is at least 1 year old before introducing egg whites.
