Very very light couscous grains

Ingredients

Portion
30 g / 0.066 lb / 1.058 oz of fine couscous grains
5 cl / 1.67 fl oz of water (maximum) to cover the grains
1 teaspoon of olive oil

Recipe

1 portion – Preparation: 10 minutes – Cooking Time: 10 minutes : 

 

Boil the water in a kettle. 

Put the grains in a bowl and cover with boiling water. Cover with a tea towel and leave to rise for 5 to 10 minutes.

Pour a dash of olive oil over the grains. Use a fork to separate them, then roll the warm (or cold) grains between the palms of your hands in the steam basket. 

Steam cook for 10 minutes and serve immediately. The baby’s couscous will be light.

Extra idea

When baby is older, the grains can be eaten with stewed vegetables and a small piece of lamb, but also as a dessert with a pinch of cinnamon.

Be daring!

Touch is such a fun and enriching experience, that the big brother or big sister can roll the grains in the palms of their hands to separate them before steam cooking them.
